Jaguar Land Rover, the UK's leading manufacturer of premium luxury vehicles delivered a strong sales performance in February, retailing 30,487 vehicles in the month, up 14% versus the same period last year. During the first two months of the year, Jaguar Land Rover sold 69,593 vehicles, up 13%.
Jaguar Land Rover's regional performance in February was as follows: the China Region up 44%, North America up 12% and Asia Pacific up 16% and Europe up 1%. Sales in the UK were lower year on year due to the market launch of some special edition models in the corresponding month of 2013. Other overseas markets were up by 16%. Sales for the first two months of the year were as follows: the China Region up 41%, North America up 14% and Asia Pacific up 8%. The UK and Europe are down slightly and other overseas markets up 12%.
Commenting on the February performance Andy Goss, Jaguar Land Rover Group Sales Operations Director said: "This has been another solid month for Jaguar Land Rover with continued strong demand for models across the range in our international markets. Together with January sales this has been a positive start to 2014, particularly given our comparator period in 2013 included the expected introductory sales spikes for new Range Rover and a number of limited edition models."
Jaguar
In February, Jaguar sold 5,300 vehicles up 15%. Jaguar's regional performance was as follows: the China Region up 41%, North America up 35% and Asia Pacific up 1%. Europe and the UK sales were lower owing to model launch activity in the corresponding month of 2013. Other overseas markets were up by 5%.
Calendar year to date, Jaguar sold 12,300 vehicles up 19% with regional performances as follows: the China Region up 56%, North America up 34% and Asia Pacific up 5%. UK and Europe sales were lower year on year and other overseas markets were up 9%.
Land Rover
In February, Land Rover sold 25,187 vehicles, up 13% with strong performances across the range. Land Rover's regional performance was as follows: the China Region up 44%, Asia Pacific up 20%, North America up 5%, and Europe up 3%. UK sales were lower owing to model launch activity in the corresponding month of 2013. Other overseas markets were up by 18%.
Calendar year to date, Land Rover sold 57,293 vehicles up 12%. Regional performances were as follows: the China Region up 37%, Asia Pacific and North America both up 9% and Europe up 1%. The UK was down slightly and other overseas markets were up 13%.
