Jaguar Land Rover Canada reports sales for August 2013

Jaguar Land Rover Canada today reported the best August sales ever. With combined sales of 500 units, Jaguar Land Rover realized a 34 percent increase compared with the same period in 2012, achieving the second best combined sales result ever since 2002.

(MISSISSAUGA, ON) ‑‑ September 4, 2013 ‑Jaguar Land Rover Canada today reported the best August sales ever.  With combined sales of 500 units, Jaguar Land Rover realized a 34 percent increase compared with the same period in 2012, achieving the second best combined sales result ever since 2002.

Jaguar sales totaled 115 units, a sales increase of 125 percent compared with August 2012.  Land Rover sales totaled 385 units for a year‑over‑year increase of 20 percent, owing its success to strong sales of the Land Rover LR2 with an increase of 105 percent and the Range Rover Evoque models, with an increase of 145 percent.

"With the All‑New Range Rover Sport launched this month, the Range Rover Evoque debut less than two years ago, and the recently launched All‑New Range Rover, along with the refreshed Land Rover LR2, we now have the strongest Land Rover line‑up ever", said Lindsay Duffield, President, Jaguar Land Rover Canada.  "Similarly, Jaguar enjoyed a brilliant sales month up 125% over last year, fuelled by the new Jaguar F‑TYPE convertible and the Instinctive All‑Wheel Drive drive XF and XJ models."

BRAND HIGHLIGHTS:

Jaguar
For the month of August, the Jaguar XJ led sales growth with a year‑over‑year record of 150 percent while the sales of the Jaguar XF increased 95 percent compared with the same period in 2012.  Both XJ and XF Sedan sales continue to increase on the appeal of new powertrains and Jaguar's "instinctive" all‑wheel drive. 

The 2013 Jaguar line‑up features:

  • Instinctive All‑Wheel Drive™ ‑ Available on both the XF and XJ
  • Supercharged 340hp V6 engines in the XF and XJ
  • Eight Speed ZF® Automatic Transmissions on all XF and XJ models
  • Auto Engine Stop/Start on select XF and XJ models

Jaguar's 2013 Model Year line‑up features four models:

The Jaguar XJ luxury sedan, powered by either the supercharged 3.0 litre V6 in All‑Wheel Drive, the 470‑hp supercharged 5.0 litre V8 or the 510‑hp supercharged 5.0 litre V8;

The Jaguar XF sports sedan with a supercharged 340‑hp 3.0 litre V6 in All‑Wheel Drive, or the XFR, with the 510‑hp supercharged 5.0 litre V8 powertrain;

The Jaguar XK coupe and convertible sports cars, powered by either the naturally‑aspirated 385‑hp V8, or for the XKR, the 510‑hp supercharged 5.0 litre V8 powertrain. Jaguar also offers its highest performance models ever, the 2013 Jaguar XKR‑S coupe and convertible with a 550‑hp supercharged 5.0 litre V8 powertrain. 

The Jaguar F‑TYPE, an all‑new two‑seat Jaguar soft‑top convertible sports car, arrived in showrooms in May.  This new front‑engine, lightweight aluminum architecture with rear‑wheel drive, is engineered to be a true high‑performance sports car. Three models are available ‑ F‑TYPE, F‑TYPE S and the F‑TYPE V8 S, powered respectively by the new Jaguar supercharged 3‑litre V6 engine in 340hp and 380hp outputs and a 495hp 5‑litre supercharged V8.

With the addition of the 550‑hp Jaguar XJR that delivers a perfect balance between supercar performance and peerless boulevard cruiser and the XKR‑S‑GT with its assertive design and staggering performance, Jaguar is expanding the R performance line to a total of six models.

Land Rover
Land Rover continues to outpace a record 2012. The month of August 2013, was the best August ever for the brand with a year‑over‑year increase of 20 percent. Range Rover Evoque sales increased 145% compared with the same period in 2012 and the Land Rover LR2 sales increased 105 percent year‑over‑year.

Land Rover's 2013 model year line‑up features five models: The 240‑hp 2.0 litre powered LR2 and Range Rover Evoque: the LR4 powered by the 375‑hp 5.0 litre V8; the Range Rover Sport and All New Range Rover.  For MY14 both the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport come equipped with a choice of supercharged 340‑hp 3.0 litre V6 or 510‑hp supercharged 5.0 litre V8 powertrains.
