Chief Creative Officer

Gerry McGovern is JLR’s Chief Creative Officer and member of the Board of Directors, responsible for the Creative direction and curation of the House of Brands – Range Rover, Defender, Discovery and Jaguar – fundamental to the company’s vision to become the creators of the world’s most desirable modern luxury automotive brands for the most discerning of clients.

McGovern has a wealth of design experience, from his early days as an industrial design student, through the Royal College of Art, to some of the biggest creative organisations in the world, during an international career spanning over 40 years. Throughout his career, Gerry has lived by the principle that creativity has the ability to transform business while enriching people’s lives.

His influence since returning to Land Rover in 2004 cannot be understated. From the radical Range Rover Evoque and reductive Range Rover Velar to the iconic reimagined Defender and peerless Range Rover, McGovern has embedded creativity into the very core of the business. His current orchestration of the re‑imagining of the Jaguar brand is eagerly anticipated.

McGovern’s mission is to navigate the implementation of emotionally compelling Brand Worlds for JLR’s much loved Marques into fully developed high equity Modern luxury Brands.
