JLR Challenge 2.0 is an annual fundraising event with our purpose ‑ ‘Live the Exceptional with Soul' at its core. Last year, the event raised over £110,000 (including JLR‑matched funding) for local and national charities. This year, with donations still coming in, our teams have raised a phenomenal £134,000 for 61 charities.

  • Annual fundraiser, The JLR Challenge, saw 500 colleagues raise a total of £134,000 for UK charities after match‑funding by the luxury automotive manufacturer.
  • 81 teams spent a weekend going head‑to‑head in an 11‑hour race filled with exhilarating tasks and a range of outdoor activities from canoeing to kayaking in the Elan Valley, mid‑Wales.
  • Birmingham Children’s Hospital, Macmillan Cancer Support, Dementia UK and the Alzheimer's Society are some of the charities which will get a share of the £134,000 being donated by JLR.

“With the help of JLR, my team who took part in the JLR Challenge managed to raise over £4,000 for Scotty’s Little Soldiers, the charity provides support for bereaved military children who have experienced the death of a parent who served in the Armed Forces.
Nikki Scott is the founder. She set up the charity after her husband, Lee, died whilst on operations in Afghanistan and whilst I never served with Lee, the charity means a lot to me, it has been there to support the families of friends that I have served with, and I have seen first‑hand how it helps grieving families find peace after such tragic losses.

Colleagues from across JLR took part, from members of its Board of Directors to those working in Creative, Electrification and Manufacturing.

Social impact is a core part of JLR’s purpose and the annual fundraiser forms part of its wider Engage for Good programme, which aims to take care of the communities and environments in which it operates in. The luxury car manufacturer has made it their mission to support causes across the globe that reduce inequalities, develop youth, support the vulnerable, and nature and biodiversity.

The business has also recently supported the Amos Bursary Charity with over £60,000 in donations and 400 volunteering hours to support educational and career progression of Black African and Caribbean students in the UK.

The charitable efforts of the business extend beyond the UK. This year marks the 10‑year anniversary of JLR China and the Soong Ching Ling Foundation establishing the Dream Fund Partnership. In 2014, JLR China donated over £550,000 to support rebuilding a school in Zhaotong which was devastated by an earthquake and the company has continued to resource the school in the decade since, to allow children to continue their education. The Dream Fund has benefitted over 700,000 young people across China over the last decade through a range of youth initiatives.

The weekend‑long fundraiser saw commitment from colleagues across JLR to make an impact in the communities JLR serves. 61 UK charities will benefit as a direct result of JLR’s commitment to corporate social responsibility, we’ll continue to do our bit to reduce inequalities and support vulnerable communities across the globe as part of our Engage for Good programme.

About JLR

JLR’s Reimagine strategy aims to deliver a sustainability‑rich vision of modern luxury by design.

We are transforming our business, targeting carbon net zero across our supply chain, products, and operations by 2039. We have set a roadmap to reduce emissions across our own operations and value chains by 2030 through approved, science‑based targets.

Electrification is central to this strategy and before the end of the decade our Range Rover, Discovery, Defender collections will each have a pure electric model, while Jaguar will be entirely electric.

At heart we are a British company, with two design and engineering sites, two vehicle manufacturing facilities, an engine manufacturing centre, and a battery assembly centre in the UK. We also have vehicle plants in China (a joint venture), Slovakia, Austria (contract manufacturing with Magna Steyr), India (contract manufacturing with Tata Motors Ltd) and Brazil, as well as seven technology hubs across the globe.

JLR is a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Motors Limited, part of Tata Sons. Media website: https://media.jaguarlandrover.com/
