- Global auto show debut in Moscow for fastest Land Rover ever with 550PS/680Nm V8 supercharged engine, 0‑100 km/h in 4.7 seconds and 260 km/h top speed
- Jaguar C‑X17 and Land Rover Discovery Vision Concept makes Russian debut
Earlier today Land Rover unveiled its eagerly anticipated Range Rover Sport SVR to global media at the prestigious Moscow International Auto Show (MIAS)..
The first Land Rover to wear the new high‑performance SVR badge, the Range Rover Sport SVR has been created by Jaguar Land Rover's Special Vehicle Operations. The SVR is built on the success of the new Range Rover Sport with its all‑aluminium monocoque, retaining the comfort, refinement and all‑terrain versatility for which the Range Rover family is globally renowned.
The Range Rover Sport SVR is the fastest and the most powerful Land Rover ever. In initial tests, Land Rover's most dynamic SUV has lapped Germany's legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife racetrack in just 8 minutes 14 seconds, one of the fastest times ever recorded by a standard production SUV.
The SVR's range‑topping 5.0‑litre supercharged V8 engine has been developed to produce 550PS and 680Nm and is capable of accelerating from 0‑100km/h in a breath‑taking 4.7 seconds and on to an electronically limited top speed of 260km/h. An advanced ZF 8HP70 8‑speed automatic transmission and four‑wheel‑drive chassis have been optimised to complement the astonishing performance, whatever the weather.
The Russian debut of the Discovery Vision concept gives the vision of a future Discovery family and showcases a whole range of technological innovations by Jaguar Land Rover engineers. Next generation HMI assists with a wide selection of infotainment options that do not distract the driver from the road. Pioneering 'Transparent Bonnet' technology, laser referencing and laser scanning will help the driver to overcome even the harshest challenges, on and off road. The first member of the new family, inspired by Discovery Vision Concept, will be revealed on the 3rd September.
The Moscow audience will also see the Jaguar C‑X17 concept, the first sports crossover by Jaguar which debuted in Frankfurt in 2013. Jaguar C‑X17 combines the character and driving experience of a sports car with increased presence, style and flexibility. The C‑X17 has been created as a design study to introduce Jaguar's all‑new advanced aluminum monocoque architecture, on which an exciting range of future Jaguars will be built. The first model of the new range will be the Jaguar XE compact sports saloon. Rollout of this model will begin in 2015.
