Iconic British automotive brand Land Rover and luxury travel specialist Abercrombie & Kent today announce their new partnership ‑ Land Rover Adventure Travel by Abercrombie & Kent.
The two brands, both synonymous with adventure, exploration and luxury, have come together to offer travellers unforgettable experiences that are only possible through such a partnership. Experiences offering guests the chance to explore landscapes, view wildlife and meet communities well and truly off the beaten track.
Under the care of specialist instructors, the adventurous‑spirited will be in the driver's seat and have the unique opportunity to directly experience the full terrain capability of their Land Rover Discovery taking in the sights and sounds of the truly extraordinary locations on offer in space and comfort.
This coming together of two iconic British brands will commence with a Best of British Tour and two itineraries that showcase some of the most thrilling experiences in Africa and India respectively.
The eight day Best of British Tours in September is aimed at overseas guests and will start at London's Savoy Hotel, then go on to explore the glorious countryside and historic sites of central England. Naturally attendees will hone their driving skills with Land Rover Experience instructors. On Route there will be an opportunity to visit Gaydon, the centre of Land Rover's design and engineering and drive a series of heritage Land Rovers.
Between 1 September and 14 October 2014 there will be four ten day adventures in Tanzania, taking in the Serengeti, the Ngorongoro Crater and the Tarangire National Parks, and returning by night to A&K's trademark luxury mobile tented camps. A challenging three day drive across the Serengeti, home to an abundance of big game will also showcase the Land Rover Discovery's unique all terrain capability through the toughest of environments .
Expert guides will accompany the Tanzanian tours, unlocking the astounding archaeology of the region and providing insights into the varied wildlife, from the endangered black rhino to the vast herds of zebra and wildebeest that roam the caldera.
Tigers are the focus for Land Rover and A&K's second adventure in 2014, which will take in the best India has to offer. With four tours running between 1November and 11 December 2014, this adventure blends India's extraordinary heritage with the rich jungle and the challenges of deep ravines and dense forest, providing a totally unique adventure.
Starting in Delhi and taking routes that are less well travelled through national parks rich in wildlife, there will be time to observe tigers, stunning birdlife, spotted deer and black buck. Travelling into the hills of Pench National park provides the opportunity to spot leopards and wild dogs, then the itinerary takes in the Mughal splendours of the Taj Mahal, Rajasthan and the 'rose city' of Jaipur.
Key to both journeys is the expert tuition that guests will receive from Land Rover Experience instructors, ensuring they can fully and safely enjoy the outstanding capability of the Land Rover vehicles. Naturally A&K's knowledgeable guides will accompany the groups, providing real insight into the places they visit and sights they see. And at the end of every intrepid day the most indulgent accommodation and delicious cuisine await.
This 2014 programme is just the start of what promises to be an exciting and long standing partnership that will takes customers to some of the most outstanding and diverse parts of the world.
