Jaguar Land Rover Report Strong Global Sales In January

Jaguar Land Rover, the UK's leading manufacturer of premium luxury vehicles delivered a strong start 2014, retailing 39,106 vehicles in the month, up 12% versus the same period last year.

Jaguar Land Rover, the UK's leading manufacturer of premium luxury vehicles delivered a strong start 2014, retailing 39,106 vehicles in the month, up 12% versus the same period last year.

Jaguar Land Rover's regional performance in January was as follows: the China Region up 39%, North America up 17% and Asia Pacific up 1%. Europe and the UK saw a slight drop in sales in January due to the market launch of some special edition models in the corresponding month of 2013. Other overseas markets were up by 8%

Commenting on the January performance Andy Goss, Jaguar Land Rover Group Sales Operations Director said: "This has been a positive start to 2014 with sales up in many of our global markets. Those of particular note include China, North America, Korea, the Middle East and North Africa and Russia."

Jaguar

In January, Jaguar sold 7,000 vehicles up 21% with sales increases for all derivatives. Jaguar's regional performance was as follows: the China Region up 65%, North America up 32% and Asia Pacific up 10%. Europe and the UK were down slightly owing to model launch activity in the corresponding month of 2013.

Land Rover

In January, Land Rover sold 32,106 vehicles, up 10% with strong performances from the latest models to be launched, the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport. Land Rover's regional performance was as follows: the China Region up 33%, North America up 13%, Asia Pacific and Europe performed in line with the prior year and the UK saw a slight drop in sales owing to model launch activity in the corresponding month of 2013.
