Jaguar Land Rover is among a number of British engineering businesses proudly supporting the Prize, which will be awarded biannually starting in 2013.

The Royal Academy of Engineering has today announced the international judging panel for the Queen Elizabeth prize for Engineering as well as a call for entries.  Jaguar Land Rover is among a number of British engineering businesses proudly supporting the Prize, which will be awarded biannually starting in 2013.

The prize aims to recognise and celebrate the achievements of modern engineering whilst providing an unparalleled opportunity to demonstrate how engineers and engineering are making a real difference across the world. In doing so, the Queen Elizabeth Prize of Engineering Foundation hope to dispel often outdated perceptions of engineering and excite and inspire a generation of young people.

Engineering is vital to the future of our society and the Queen Elizabeth Prize for Engineering is the ideal platform to applaud innovation and excellence in this field. This is an area in which Britainhas a rich heritage and it is imperative that we continue to nurture engineering skills. JLR supports and encourages the continued development of engineering through its own advanced research and product design and development activities in the UK, working increasingly in greater co‑operation with academia and suppliers and will continue to pioneer advances and innovation.
