(MAHWAH, N.J.) – September 13, 2017 – As part of Jaguar Land Rover North America’s continued commitment to supporting Veterans and Transitioning Service Members, the company today announced the expansion of its Veterans hiring program, with CALIBRE Systems, Inc. across its retailer network in Canada. The first Canadian Armed Forces Veteran was hired through Jaguar Land Rover Edmonton in Alberta, Canada this month.
The program, which connects skilled and experienced service members and veterans with employment opportunities at Jaguar Land Rover retailers in partnership with CALIBRE Systems, Inc., was launched in the U.S. in 2016 and has resulted in the hiring of nearly 200 Veterans to date. This program follows the recruitment of over 700 Transitioning Service Members, Veterans, and currently serving members of the National Guard and Reserve in the UK since 2013. Those interested may apply online at www.jlrvets.com.
Like the U.S the Canadian retail network employment plan will be managed in collaboration with CALIBRE Systems, Inc. – a management consulting and information technology company that supports government and industry.
“With the success of the CALIBRE partnership in the U.S over the past year, we are very excited to be expanding the program into Canada,” said Wolfgang Hoffmann, President, Jaguar Land Rover Canada, ULC. “We’re also thrilled to have our first Veteran hired through our Jaguar Land Rover retailer in Edmonton and look forward to welcoming many more skilled and experienced service members into our Jaguar Land Rover family.”
Since 2014, both Jaguar Land Rover and its wider supply chain have benefited immensely from the recruitment of highly skilled Transitioning Service Members, Veterans and Wounded, Ill and Injured talent. The British firm has employed more than 200 Veterans in the UK since 2014, far exceeding its original commitment under the Armed Forces Covenant. Today’s announcement extends that pledge to U.S. Veterans, helping bring their experience and commitment to bear across the North American business.
As part of the luxury car manufacturer’s global commitment to support the Armed Forces, Jaguar Land Rover will return this year as Presenting Partner of the Invictus Games Toronto 2017 ‑ the British‑ founded international sporting event for Wounded, Ill and Injured Service Members ‑ taking place in Ontario, Canada, September 23‑30, 2017. Jaguar Land Rover will be represented by teams from the UK, U.S. and Canada at this year’s Games.
