(MAHWAH, NJ) – September 1, 2016 ‑‑ Jaguar Land Rover today reported August 2016 U.S. sales: Jaguar sales were 3,298 units, a 189 percent increase from 1,143 units in August 2015; Land Rover sales reached 6,031 units, up 15 percent from record sales of 5,225 units in August 2015; Jaguar Land Rover August U.S. sales for both brands hit 9,329 units, a 46 percent increase from 6,368 units in August 2015; making it the best August sales month since 2003.

Year‑to‑date, Jaguar Land Rover U.S. sales reached 66,441, up 26 percent from 52,769 units in 2015.

U.S. BRAND HIGHLIGHTS

Land Rover

For the month of August, Land Rover sales hit 6,031 units sold, up 15 percent; making this the best ever August sales month for the brand. In the U.S., year to date through August, Land Rover is continuing to grow with sales up 15 percent to 48,754 units sold versus 42,548 in 2015.

For the month of August, the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport were the volume leaders hitting 1,236 and 1,667 units sold, respectively.

Sales of the Discovery Sport hit 1,038 units, up 18 percent from 881 in 2015; making it the best August sales month for the model.

Diesel powered versions of Range Rover and Range Rover Sport hit 444 units, accounting for approximately 15 percent of total Range Rover and Range Rover Sport sales for August.

The 2016 Land Rover model line‑up features five models: The Discovery Sport and Range Rover Evoque, both powered by 240‑hp turbocharged 2.0‑liter engines; the LR4, powered by a 340‑hp supercharged V6 engine; and the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport available with five powertrain options – a 340‑hp supercharged V6 petrol, a 380‑hp supercharged V6 petrol, a 510‑hp supercharged V8 petrol, a 550‑hp supercharged V8 petrol and a new 254‑hp turbocharged 3.0‑liter V6 diesel.

For the month of August, Jaguar sales were 3,298 units, a 189 percent increase from 1,143 units in August 2015; making it the best Jaguar sales month since 2004. In the U.S., year to date through August, Jaguar is continuing to grow with sales up 73 percent to 17,687 units sold versus 10,221 in 2015.

August marked the third full sales month of Jaguar’s two new entry luxury vehicles: the 2017 XE compact luxury sedan, starting at $34,900(1), and the 2017 F‑PACE compact luxury SUV, starting at $40,990(1). The Jaguar XE hit 901 units sold and the F‑PACE hit 1,222 units sold; making it the brand’s volume leader.

Sales of the all‑new, redesigned Jaguar XF hit 483 units, up 50 percent from 321 in 2015.

Receiving its mid‑cycle refresh for 2016, the full‑size Jaguar XJ sedan, available with three powertrain options – a 340‑HP supercharged V6, a 470‑hp supercharged V8 and a 550‑hp supercharged V8 – is offered in both standard and long wheelbase lengths in both rear‑ and all‑wheel drive configurations. Completely redesigned for the 2016 model year, the mid‑size Jaguar XF sedan is offered with two supercharged V6 powertrains producing 340‑ and 380‑hp and is available with rear‑ or all‑wheel drive. The 2016 Jaguar F‑TYPE is newly available with options of all‑wheel drive and a manual transmission. Available powertrains include two supercharged V6 engines producing 340‑ and 380‑hp and a 550‑hp supercharged V8 all available in both in coupe and convertible body styles across four trim levels. 

Starting with 2016 model year vehicles, the Jaguar model line‑up features an improved competitive value position via steps such as increased standard equipment or new lower MSRP choices by model. Also starting in model year 2016, all Jaguar models come standard with Jaguar EliteCare, an ownership package with class‑leading five‑years or 60,000‑mile warranty, complimentary scheduled maintenance coverage, roadside assistance and Jaguar InControl® Protect & RemoteTM2.
