(MISSISSAUGA, ON) ‑ January 5, 2016 ‑ Jaguar Land Rover Canada today reported December 2015 sales totalled 980 units, for a 31 per cent year‑over‑year increase and the best combined December, and month ever.
For the full 2015 year, Jaguar Land Rover Canada sales were up with 9,016 units sold, compared to 7,743 in 2014, a 16 per cent increase year‑over‑year. For 2015, the Jaguar Land Rover brand established an all‑time annual high for Canadian sales, making 2015 the fourth consecutive record year. The Land Rover brand has broken Canadian sales records for the fifth consecutive year, with 7,720 units sold, a 23 per cent increase year‑over‑year.
"Sales in December and for 2015 lead Jaguar Land Rover Canada to a fourth consecutive year of record sales demonstrating we are delivering on our promise of innovative products," said Santino Pirillo, Director of Sales, Jaguar Land Rover Canada. CANADIAN BRAND HIGHLIGHTS
Land Rover
This month was the best December ever, as well as the best month ever for Land Rover retail sales with a total of 900 units and a 42 per cent increase compared with the same period last year.
Sales leaders for the month were the Discovery Sport, with 295 sales and its best month ever, followed by the Range Rover Sport with 294 units sold and a 16 per cent year‑over‑year increase, and the Range Rover with 123 sales and a 54 per cent year‑over‑year increase for a record month for the model.
For the full year 2015, Land Rover Canada sales reached a new all‑time high of 7,720 units, and a 23 per cent year‑over‑year increase.
The 2016 model year Land Rover line‑up features five models: The Discovery Sport luxury compact SUV, powered by a 240‑hp turbocharged 2.0 litre i‑4. The LR4 luxury all‑terrain SUV, powered by a 340‑hp supercharged 3.0 litre V6 engine. The Range Rover Evoque luxury SUV, powered by a 240‑hp turbocharged 2.0 litre i‑4, and Range Rover, the ultimate luxury SUV powered by a 254‑hp turbocharged 3.0 litre V6 diesel in the HSE Td6 model, a 510‑hp supercharged 5.0 litre V8, and a 550‑hp supercharged 5.0 litre V8 in the SVAutobiography model.
For 2016 model year, Land Rover will add two special editions to the Range Rover Sport line up, the Range Rover Sport HST, available in either a 3.0L Supercharged V6 380hp engine or a 5.0L Supercharged V8 510hp engine with added SVR aero package and the 550‑hp Range Rover Sport SVR.
Arriving in spring 2016 for the 2017 model year is the Range Rover Evoque Convertible, an exclusive luxury compact SUV joining the Evoque line‑up. The Range Rover Evoque Convertible will be available with a 240‑hp turbocharged 2.0 litre i‑4 engine in a two‑door model with seating for four, starting at $64,9901.
September marked the start of sales in Canada for the 2016 Range Rover and Range Rover Sport featuring a new 3.0L turbocharged V6 diesel engine.
Jaguar
For the month of December, Jaguar sales reached 80 units, down 32 per cent from the same period last year. The Jaguar XJ was the performer of the month with 43 sales and an eight per cent increase year‑over‑year, followed by the Jaguar F‑TYPE with 29 sales and a seven per cent increase year‑over‑year.
For the full year 2015, Jaguar sales totalled 1,296 units, making it the second best calendar year since 2004.
The 2016 model year Jaguar line‑up features four models: The Jaguar XJ luxury sedan, powered by a 340‑hp supercharged 3.0 litre V6 in all‑wheel‑drive, a 470‑hp supercharged 5.0 litre V8 or a 550‑hp supercharged 5.0 litre V8 in the XJR model. The Jaguar XF sports sedan powered by a 340‑hp supercharged 3.0 litre V6 in all‑wheel‑drive, and a 380‑hp supercharged 3.0 litre XF S in all‑wheel drive.
The F‑TYPE Coupe is powered by a 340‑hp supercharged 3.0 litre V6, a 380‑hp supercharged 3.0 litre V6, or a 550‑hp supercharged 5.0 litre V8 in the F‑TYPE R Coupe. The F‑TYPE convertible is available with three engine variants: a 340‑hp supercharged 3.0 litre V6, and a 380‑hp supercharged 3.0 litre V6 or 495‑hp supercharged 5.0 litre V8 in the F‑TYPE S convertible.
New for the 2016 model year F‑TYPE convertible is available with 550‑hp supercharged 5.0 litre V8 in the F‑TYPE V8 R. With the 2016 model year Jaguar F‑TYPE, Instinctive All Wheel Drive and manual transmission options are also available.
December marked the start of sales of the new‑from‑the‑ground‑up 2016 model year Jaguar XF sedan, which is based on Jaguar's new aluminum‑intensive architecture, and the Jaguar XJ, also benefitting from new all‑aluminum body construction and enhanced performance. Beginning in the spring of 2016, the Jaguar brand value story further transforms with two new entry luxury vehicles, the 2017 Jaguar XE compact luxury sedan, starting at $45,0001, and the 2017 Jaguar F‑PACE compact luxury SUV, starting at $49,9001.
