(LOS ANGELES, CA) ‑ April 28, 2014 ‑ Friday night, Jaguar Land Rover North America celebrated its partnership with P.S. ARTS, a local nonprofit organization dedicated to improving children's lives through arts education, as a Presenting Sponsor of the Los Angeles Modernism Opening Night Event at 3Labs in Culver City. The evening convened VIPs and influencers from the worlds of design, fashion, art and entertainment for a special preview of the show. Proceeds from ticket sales and donor funding will support P.S. ARTS' programs that currently serve 15,000 students throughout southern California.
Last month, Jaguar Land Rover North America announced it will provide a $130,000, one‑year grant to P.S. ARTS to enhance its programming and further extend its reach to children who would not otherwise have access to the arts in schools. It also allows the organization to design and deliver 30‑week curricula in various art disciplines to school children. Jaguar Land Rover is awarding the grant through the company's global corporate social responsibility platform, which funds projects around the world with the collective goal of affecting 12 million people globally, including 2 million through education projects such as P.S. ARTS, by 2020. P.S. ARTS is the first beneficiary of the company's corporate social responsibility platform in North America.
Celebrity and VIP guests of the LA Modernism event included Julie Bowen, Jenna Elfman, George Kotsiopoulos, Ted Danson, Mary Steenburgen, Benjamin McKenzie, Challen Cates, Peter Dunham, Kathryn M. Ireland, Jodi Long and Amanda Righetti ‑ among many others. In true Jaguar Land Rover style, select guests were chauffeured to the event in Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles.
Upon arrival, guests walked a red carpet that included a display of the British brand's marquee cars, including a 2015 Salsa Red F‑TYPE Coupe and a 2014 Range Rover. Also on display was a Union Jack‑emblazoned 2014 Jaguar F‑TYPE Convertible and the 2014 Range Rover Sport. Celebrities posed for photos with the award‑winning vehicles and chatted with media about the evening's important beneficiary, their love for modern art and the festivities awaiting them inside.
Once inside, guests enjoyed LA Modernism's wide array of art from more than 40 of the most well‑known 20th Century dealers in the world. They also enjoyed signature Jaguar Land Rover cocktails, such as The Land Rover Autobiography Clover "Gingersnap" and The Jaguar ALIVE Margarita Clover "Quench," made with fresh ingredients and top shelf spirits from Avión Silver Tequila and Absolut® Elyx. The evening's festivities also included an auction where one very lucky guest won a special weekend for two at the Land Rover Driving Academy at the Quail Lodge and Golf Club in Carmel.
