(MAHWAH, NJ) ‑ March 18, 2014 ‑ Jaguar Land Rover North America announced today a $130,000, one‑year grant to P.S. ARTS, an arts education nonprofit in Southern California, to enhance its programming and further extend its reach to children who would not otherwise have access to the arts in schools.  Jaguar Land Rover is awarding the grant through the company's global corporate social responsibility platform, which funds projects around the world with the collective goal of affecting 12 million people globally, including 2 million through education projects such as P.S. ARTS, by 2020.  P.S. ARTS is the first beneficiary of the company's corporate social responsibility platform in North America.

Jaguar Land Rover's grant will allow P.S. ARTS to greatly extend its program capability and enhance its outreach efforts.  P.S. ARTS provides nationally recognized arts education programs to approximately 15,000 underserved students each week by bringing arts education teachers into the classroom during a traditional school day.

Based in Southern California, P.S. ARTS focuses on providing a high‑quality education in the visual arts, music, and theater in elementary and middle schools.  Nearly 75 percent of P.S. ARTS participants live at or below the federal poverty level, 10 percent have special needs, and 55 percent of students have English as a second language. Currently, P.S. ARTS serves students in close to 40 schools in eight school districts.

"Our corporate social responsibility program was established to positively impact the lives of millions of people around the globe, and our grant to P.S. ARTS will help us accomplish this mission on a very hands‑on level, supporting kids, here in the United States, " said Joe Eberhardt, President & CEO, Jaguar Land Rover North America. "We are especially impressed with P.S. ARTS' efforts to deliver arts and design curriculum and activities which are such an important part of children's development and enjoyment."

Jaguar Land Rover's contribution will enable P.S. ARTS to design and create art kits in various art disciplines. These kits will be designed with input from P.S. ARTS graduates for distribution to programs across Southern California.

On April 25, Jaguar Land Rover will launch its partnership with P.S. ARTS at the Los Angeles Modernism Opening Night event, where 100 percent of funds raised will directly benefit P.S. ARTS to further develop and implement programming.  More than 1,000 patrons are expected to attend this kick off to a weekend‑long art and design exhibition in Culver City. Jaguar Land Rover will also support P.S. ARTS' annual Express Yourself event later this year. Held at the Santa Monica Barkar hangar, approximately 1,500 visitors and P.S. ARTS students will be greeted by rows of arts booths and endless art supplies, and guided by professional artists and teachers through a rich array of exciting projects.

"P.S. ARTS is pleased to align our organization with the Jaguar Land Rover brand, and showcase this partnership at our key fundraising events," said Joshua Tanzer, Chairperson, Board of Trustees, P.S. ARTS. "This collaboration will result in additional art opportunities for the students in our growing communities and P.S. ARTS is very grateful to be the beneficiary of this generous grant."

In partnership with P.S. ARTS, Jaguar Land Rover will also create opportunities for its employees to interact directly with P.S. ARTS students through volunteering opportunities and dealer activations. The company's relationship with P.S. ARTS will continue through December 2014.

Jaguar Land Rover's corporate social responsibility platform of combining actions in environmental responsibility with social responsibility to effect sustainable business growth aligns with the Los Angeles Unified School District.  The platform funds projects that support education, environment, humanitarian and health, and nurturing talent with the goal of advancing knowledge and improving lives for 12 million people by 2020.
