(MISSISSAUGA, ON) ‑ January 13, 2013 ‑ Jaguar Land Rover Canada today reported December 2013 sales: Jaguar sales were 88 units, 76 percent up from December 2012; Land Rover sales reached 502 units, up 24 percent from December 2012. Jaguar Land Rover Canada December sales for both brands were 590 units, a 30 percent increase from 455 units in December 2012.

Jaguar Land Rover Canada also reported full year 2013 sales: Land Rover sales for the year achieved an all‑time high of 5,136 up 20 percent from 4,268 in 2012; Jaguar sales for the year were 1,263 up 96 percent from 644 in 2012; Jaguar Land Rover Canada sales for the year were 6,399; up 30 percent from 4,912 units in 2012.

"Jaguar products such as the new Jaguar F‑TYPE, and Instinctive All‑Wheel Drive r XF and XJ models made Jaguar the  fastest growing automotive brand in Canada.. With a record Range Rover Evoque sales year and momentum generated by the new Range Rover and Range Rover Sport, Land Rover models experienced their best sales year in history."

BRAND HIGHLIGHTS:

Jaguar

In December, Jaguar brand rose 76 percent ‑ the best December sales total since 2004. For the full year 2013, Jaguar was the fastest growing brand with sales of 1,263 up 96 percent, with both XJ and XF sales increasing on the appeal of new powertrains and all‑wheel‑drive.

For the month of December, the Jaguar XF was the Jaguar volume and growth leader with a 148 percent increase compared with December 2012.  For the full year 2013, the XF was up 76 percent.

F‑TYPE convertible sports car sales were 11 in December, bucking the severe winter weather. With sales starting in May, Jaguar F‑TYPE sales totaled 229 units in 2013. The Jaguar F‑TYPE received numerous accolades from automotive media for its design, performance and value, including:

  • The '2014 Convertible of the Year' from Auto123.com
  • The Robb Report's 'Best of the Best' winner of the 'Convertible' category
  • 2013 World Car Design of the Year

The F‑TYPE Coupe was introduced at the Los Angeles International Automobile Show in December and goes on sale in spring, 2014.

The 2014 Jaguar line‑up features:

  • Instinctive All‑Wheel Drive™ ‑ Available on both the XF and XJ
  • Supercharged 340hp V6 engines in the XF and XJ
  • Eight Speed ZF® Automatic Transmissions on all XF and XJ models
  • Auto Engine Stop/Start on select XF and XJ models

The 2014 Jaguar line‑up features four models: The Jaguar XJ luxury sedan, powered by a 340‑hp supercharged V6 all‑wheel‑drive, a 470‑hp supercharged V8 or a 550‑hp supercharged V8 in the XJR model. The Jaguar XF sports sedan powered by a 240‑hp turbocharged four cylinder, a 340‑hp supercharged V6 in all‑wheel‑drive, a 510‑hp Supercharged V8 in the XFR, and a 550‑hp Supercharged V8 in the XFR‑S. The XK coupe and convertible grand touring cars are powered by either a 385‑hp V8 or a 510‑hp supercharged V8 in the XKR. Jaguar also offers its highest performance models ever, the 2014 Jaguar XKR‑S coupe and convertible with a 550‑hp supercharged V8.  The 2014 MY Jaguar F‑TYPE convertible comes in three variants, 340‑hp F‑TYPE, 380‑hp F‑TYPE S and 495‑hp F‑TYPE V8 S.

Land Rover

In December, Land Rover brand reached 502 units for the highest December sales ever. For the full year, 2013, the Land Rover brand set a new Canadian sales record of 5,136 units, up 20 percent from 2012.

Range Rover Sport sales were up 112 percent compared with December, 2012, based on exceptionally strong demand for this all new model.

The flagship Range Rover model saw an 11 percent increase in sales in December, capping off its bests sales year ever at 590 sales, up 52% over 2012.

Range Rover Evoque, with 1782 sales, had its best year ever ‑  a 32 percent increase over  2012.

The new Range Rover and Range Rover Sport were honored with numerous accolades from automotive media in 2013 including:

  • Range Rover was named the 'Luxury Large Utility of the Year' by Auto123.com,
  • Range Rover Sport has been named to Road & Track's first ever "Best Cars" list of 2013 in the "SUV" category

Land Rover's 2014 model year line‑up features five models: The 240‑hp 2.0 litre powered LR2 and Range Rover Evoque; the updated LR4 now powered by a supercharged 340‑hp V6; the Range Rover Sport and Range Rover, both available with the 340‑hp V6 and 510‑hp supercharged 5.0 litre V8 powertrains.
