MISSISSAUGA, ON, April 2, 2013‑Jaguar Land Rover Canada today reported record sales for each brand and both brands combined. Jaguar sales totaled 146 units, making it the best March since 2004, with a total sales increase of 83 percent compared with the same period in 2012. 

In March, Land Rover sales totaled 585 units ‑ the best month ever. Total sales for Land Rover increased 27 percent year‑over‑year. 

Combined sales for the company totaled 731 units, 35% higher than the comparable 2012 period.   

More and more discerning luxury automotive customers are turning to Jaguar  Land Rover products each month"," noted  Lindsay Duffield, President, Jaguar Land Rover Canada.  "Our current product line‑up is the strongest ever.  With the new Jaguar F‑Type convertible arriving this spring and All‑New Range Rover Sport a few months later, our momentum should only accelerate."

BRAND HIGHLIGHTS:

Land Rover

For the month of March 2013, the Range Rover sales increased 22 percent year‑over‑year.

The all‑new Range Rover, featuring weight‑saving aluminum architecture, is available in showrooms now with a starting price of $114,750, ranging up to $144,000 for the Range Rover Autobiography model.  For 2013 model year, the Land Rover LR2 receives significant interior and exterior design updates, and set record sales with an increase of 225 percent year‑over‑year.

The Range Rover Evoque sales for March increased 41 percent compared with the same period in 2012, making it the best month ever.

At the 2013 Vancouver International Auto Show last week, Jaguar Land Rover Canada debuted the all‑new 2014 model year Range Rover Sport.  The new Range Rover Sport, built on a weight saving aluminum architecture, will join the recently launched Range Rover and Range Rover Evoque in the brand's portfolio of all new Range Rover SUVs.

For the month of March, the Jaguar XK was the growth leader with a year‑over‑year increase of 150 percent.  Jaguar XF sales increased 87 percent year‑over‑year, making it the best month ever for the model. Similarly, Jaguar XJ sales increased 61 percent compared with the same period last year.  Both XF and XJ sedan sales continue to increase on the appeal of new powertrains and Jaguar's "instinctive" all‑wheel drive.

At the 2013 New York International Auto Show last week, Jaguar debuted two new models, the 550‑hp Jaguar XJR and Jaguar XKR‑S GT, expanding its R performance lineup to six models.

The 2013 Jaguar line‑up features:

  • Instinctive All‑Wheel Drive™ ‑ Available on both the XF and XJ
  • Supercharged 340hp V6 engines in the XF and XJ
  • Eight Speed ZF® Automatic Transmissions on all XF and XJ models
  • Auto Engine Stop/Start on select XF and XJ models

Jaguar's 2013 Model Year line‑up features three models: The Jaguar XJ luxury sedan, powered by either the supercharged 3.0 litre V6 in All‑Wheel Drive, the 470‑hp supercharged 5.0 litre V8 or the 510‑hp supercharged 5.0 litre V8; the Jaguar XF sports supercharged 340‑hp 3.0 litre V6 in All‑Wheel Drive, or the XFR, the 510‑hp supercharged 5.0 litre V8 powertrains; and the XK coupe and convertible sports cars powered by either the naturally‑aspirated 385‑hp V8, or for the XKR, the 510‑hp supercharged 5.0 litre V8 powertrains. Jaguar also offers its highest performance models ever, the 2013 Jaguar XKR‑S coupe and convertible with a 550‑hp supercharged 5.0 litre V8 powertrain.  The Jaguar F‑TYPE convertible will join the lineup in the summer of 2013.
