Paul Cope was appointed Director of Manufacturing for Jaguar Land Rover on 1st September 2008 and in 2009 we gained the Automotive News Europe's 'Eurostar for Manufacturing' award.
Paul joined the company in 2006 as Manufacturing Director for Land Rover Solihull, bringing with him a wealth of manufacturing experience gathered both in the UK and the United States.
Paul worked for Ford Motor Company from 1977 after graduating from Essex University. His first job was Trainee Foreman in the Dagenham Engine Plant in Essex, where he progressed to the positions of Production Manager and Nightshift Manager.
In 1992, Paul was appointed Manager, Engine Testing at Ford's Research and Engineering Centre in Dunton. The following year he moved to Swansea Chassis and Powertrain Plant as Engineering and Quality Manager and was appointed Plant Manager in 1996.
In 2000, Paul moved to the United States to take up the post of plant manager at Visteon Corporation's Indianapolis manufacturing facility and in 2003, he became Manufacturing Director for Visteon in Dearborn. Previous to his current appointment, Paul was Manufacturing Director for Automotive Component Holdings in the USA.
Born in South London in 1954, Paul is married with three daughters.
Enjoying an active life, Paul was a keen rugby player and is an experienced scuba diver. He is a British Sub‑Aqua Club instructor and PADI Dive Master. Other interests include country walks, boats and anything to do with the sea.
