Phil Hodgkinson was appointed to the position of Director Global Business Expansion, Jaguar Land Rover in June 2012. As a member of the Jaguar Land Rover Executive Committee, Phil oversees the Company's growing industrialisation outside of the UK with responsibility for ensuring the effective co‑ordination and delivery of product programmes in China, India and other countries across the world. Working with Product Development, Manufacturing, Purchasing and Marketing Sales and Service Phil's focus is on the development and implementation of JLR's global manufacturing footprint
Phil has a proven track record in leading both the Jaguar and Land Rover programme activities and in his previous role as Product Development Director, he had responsibility for driving all cross functional product creation processes for both brands.
Phil began his career in the automotive industry as a Technical Engineering apprentice at Leyland Vehicles in 1975. In 1982 he joined Ford Motor Company on its Technical Engineering Graduate Training scheme and then in 1990 he transferred to Jaguar as Product Planning Manager for XJS. Over more than two decades with the Company, Phil has held a number of senior programme and launch roles including Jaguar Programmes Director (2002), Land Rover Programmes Director (2007) and most recently Product Development Director (2008).
Born in Preston, Phil holds a Bachelor of Technology from Loughborough University and is married with two children. Interests include football, cricket and golf.
